"I never even entertained the notion that the components inside my '61 SG reissue weren't excellent, until I opened it up to have a look.
What I found inside was disheartening: run-of-the-mill pots and tiny film caps that struck me as hardly capable of making any significant contribution to the shaping of this otherwise lovely instrument's tone.

"HAPPY TONEBENDER CUSTOMER!-----I've been trying to find the magic combination of usable volume and tone controls that work as they should throughout the entire sweep of the pots in my R7. That quest has led me to other pre wired kits with Jensen caps which I wasn't happy with, tried resistors across the volume lugs which preserved the fidelity when rolling back the volume, but screwed up the tone controls to where 2 and 10 sounded the same and really made the rolled off tones almost too bright.

Long quest ended with Tonebenders Vitamin Qs. I had him pre wire it to '57 spec with CTS 500K pots and used a .022 in the bridge and .015 in the neck. In short rolling off the volume maintains an even tone to the full up tone and the tone controls are usable across the entire sweep as well. I obviously couldn't A/B with previous setups, but the tones are extremely musical, open and sweet sounding.

Highly recommended as a very economical upgrade!!"

"I threw a Vit Q into my Fender Custom Shop Nocaster, the thing is amazing! A world of difference between a regula rold modern one and going with the real deal old timer. It fattened and sweetened up the tone amazingly. My repair guy, who by the way is a new school fella, was even blown away at the tonal difference. People often dismiss caps as an integral part of tone and they are simply wrong:>)

I also got one that is being put in my new custom strat, can't wait!

"Wow...got the caps today in world record time...put two in my R8 and this is really the first time I've put tone caps in my guitar and noticed a huge difference with the tone control on ten...my guitar sounds clearer and punchier plus my tone control is usuable throughout its whole range...

the other two will be going in my 335 on Sunday...
